Our Pastor John Holmes

Welcome,

I am John Holmes, senior pastor of Marshall Baptist Church. Thanks for taking the time to visit our web site and learn a little about our church.

I have been at Marshall for almost eight years now and am privileged to be God’s man for this fellowship. I am married to Merri, my wife of thirty years and we have four daughters, two sons-in-law and four grand children.

As a child, I spent most of the first seventeen years of my life in the country of Liberia, West Africa as the son of missionaries Floyd and Frances Holmes. Following in their footsteps, my wife and I served in the country of Ivory Coast, West Africa as missionaries for nearly sixteen years until we were forced to leave because of a civil war. Through much prayer and searching, the Lord lead us here to serve at Marshall Baptist Church and we are thankful to be here.

My prayer for our church is that we glorify our Heavenly Father in all things we do. Our ministries are many and varied. We have Sunday School classes for all ages. We use AWANA as our weekly Bible time for pre-teens, and our TEEN ministry is vibrant and growing under the leadership of our Pastor of Youth ministries, Rev. Scott Bishop.
