Hello, I am John Holmes and have been the pastor of Marshall Baptist Church since January of 2004.  Let me introduce you to my family; my wife is Merri and the three of our four daughters who still live at home are Heidi, a freshman at Piedmont Baptist College, Kelsey, who is in the seventh grade and Katie, our fifth grader. Our fourth daughter, Megan, is married and serving the Lord with her husband, Eric, in Gibsonville, N.C.

I am the son of missionaries and was raised in the little country of Liberia, West Africa.  Merri and I were then missionaries ourselves from 1987 to 2004.  We served in Ivory Coast, West Africa, but left the field in 2002 because of a civil war in the country.  After a week of guns firing all around us, we were finally evacuated by the French and US militaries.  After praying and seeking the Lord's will for over a year we were led to Marshall Baptist Church, and couldn't be happier for God's leading in our lives.

 The Lord is truly blessing here at our church and we praise Him for it and we are looking forward to what He is going to do in the weeks and months ahead.  We appreciate you seeking out our web site, now, will you please come and visit us?  You will be an honored guest!
